A scalloped fretboard is a great advantage for those who play guitar styles that require a lot of speed, as it gives the player more control over the strings during the execution of bends, pull offs and vibratos. It also helps to avoid off-tune notes since the strings slide more easily between the frets. The neck becomes naturally ergonomic which gives the player more comfort in the execution of bending and fast riffs. The strings are more responsive and the notes are slightly more resonant due to the elevated space between the string and the fretboard.
